Hello 2023 - Are You Ready!
Are you ready for the weather? YES! Remember to bundle up because cooler temperatures are great for outdoor fun especially on days when there's no school. However, we still need to get through Groundhog Day before thinking about warmer weather. There is no school on the following days: January 16 (MLK Jr. Holiday) and February 20-24 (Winter Break).
Are you ready for contests and challenges? YES! Science Fair applications are due next week. Win and you could represent Kincaid at Cobb County's District Contest in April. We also have Foundation's Snowball Fight Friday taking place on January 27 followed by the weeklong Kids Heart Challenge that supports the American Heart Association running January 30-February 3. Let's not forget the Pajama Pants Challenge that supports the CCYA's Homeless Youth Awareness Campaign and held during February's Kindness Week, as well as our annual Cougar Run in March.
Are you ready for the celebrations? YES! Families are invited to help us celebrate a lot during the second half of the school year. We have the midyear reading celebration, Bedtime, Books & Beanstack on January 19 followed by International Day and STEM Expo Day in February. Our annual Celebration of the Arts Day will take place March 31 and rounding out the school year will be Teacher Appreciation Week on May 1-5.
If asked again if YOU are ready for ALL the things happening at Kincaid in 2023, you can say YES!
As always, as you read through this issue of Cat Tracks check out what's coming, where help is needed and all the ways PTA and Foundation support our students, our school staff members and our diverse community.
