Step outside these days and you KNOW we are in a new season. Fall Is Definitely Here! This makes October a great month for families to get more active, get outdoors and to explore. Popular family-fun activities include: clearing flowerbeds, raking leaves, going on hikes, planning a camping trip or even enjoying a local high school sport event. What will YOUR family do this month? Tag us on Facebook (@KincaidFoundationandPTA) and share a photo of your family's outdoor activity. 

As always, as you read through this issue of Cat Tracks check out what's coming, where help is needed and all the ways PTA and Foundation support our students, our school staff members and our diverse community.

Celebrating National Hispanic Heritage

We are kicking off our monthly diversity spotlight with a new bulletin board and newsletter celebrating National Hispanic Heritage month. Click here to read our inaugural Diversity & Inclusion Newsletter.

Final Call For Reflection Submissions

Students interested in participating in this 50+ year-old program are asked to submit their original artwork by Thursday, October 13. A collection box has been placed in the Kincaid Library Learning Commons.

Wellness Week Is Coming - Are YOU Ready!

During the month of October, students will take part in a heathy choices and wellness week initiative organized by our school counselors, Mrs. Kotarba and Mrs. Sims. Each day during the designated week, students will be tasked with completing a healthy activity. Prizes to be given upon successful completion of all activities. More details will be sent home in your child's communication folder.

  • 10/20 – Foundation Board Meeting 7:30AM 

*Our meetings are totally open, you do not need to be a board member to attend! Please join us if you want to know more about what the Foundation does. Zoom link will be sent out via CTLS closer to 10/20.

  • 10/28 – Foundation Friday – Costumes; Book Characters
  • 10/31 - Family Investment Campaign Ends

Design Lab News

Thank you students for all of the water bottles you helped Kincaid recycle! The Design Lab will be using them for a cool art project! For the month of October, we will be collecting aluminum foil. It can be used or new in a box, but it must be clean. Drop it off in the recycling buckets at the front door and in the hall by the library.
